For the last twenty years, Roy Hintsa has practiced as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) facilitator conducting stress reduction group workshops throughout the Metro area. He trained at the Centre for Mindfulness at UMASS Medical School under the supervision of Jon Kabat Zinn and his staff, beginning his studies after retiring from a successful career in business and engineering.
MBSR is based on Eastern meditation practices and is now widely available in the Metro Toronto area.
Roy focused work with individuals suffering from dementia has been especially rewarding.
Students from the Toronto School of Theology preparing for ordained ministry, have benefited from Roy’s contribution to their education through his participation in the Clinical Pastoral Education program taught by Jim Ellis at the Scarborough Hospital.
